Seattle Sounders

When the Sounders won their semi-final match to advance to the MLS Championship, soccer fever swept across the city. To bring this to life visually, we used paper cutouts, forced perspective, and photography to transform Seattle into a giant soccer match. In the week leading up to the match, we created a real life Sounders logo, turned Pike Place Market into a soccer ball, bicycle kicked the Seattle PI Globe, made a Sounders scarf out of the Elephant Car Wash, and more.
On matchday, we used street art to place easter eggs throughout the “March to the Match” route. We changed ‘stop’ hands into goalie gloves, elevators into goals, and hanging flower baskets into beautiful hairdos. The response was amazing, with fans stopping to take photos and share online–amplifying our campaign organically.   In addition the shares from fans, King 5 ran a feature on the campaign, Bleacher Report reposted our content, and the mega-popular 433 soccer page posted a video of our elevator which resulted in 2.8 million views on Instagram alone.
